CalgaryToSpace

CalgaryToSpace, an interdisciplinary organization based out of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary, is the only student team in Calgary currently working on a real space mission. Our goal is to encourage interest in the space and aerospace industries in our community, while inspiring students with a unique and challenging mission. CalgaryToSpace is currently designing, assembling, and planning the operation of FrontierSat, a 3U CubeSat set to be Calgarys first student-developed satellite. The craft will carry high-tech science payloads developed by researchers at the University of Calgary and demonstrate their long-term capabilities in orbit for the very first time. Launching in 2025, FrontierSat will fly overhead at an altitude of 450+ km and at speeds of 27,000 km/h, collecting images of plasma in Earths ionosphere as it does so.
