Academician Vakhtang Bochorishvili Clinic was founded in 1979, initially it was named as Anti-sepsis and Infectious Diseases Center and was innovative throughout Soviet Union. With high engagement of experienced doctors the mortality rate due to sepsis in Georgia was decreased from 65% to 5%. In 1984 founders of the Center received a state prize for successful and significant work and in 1987 clinic was placed in five-storey building which was constructed for Anti-sepsis and Infectious Diseases Center. Today totally renewed clinic of Vakhtang Bochorishvili is located in same address, 16 Alexander Kazbegi Avenue.
