The company was founded in Zagreb, Croatia in 1989 under the name Analitika d.o.o., since when it acts as an exclusive distributor of Perkin Elmer, one of the leading manufacturers of analytical laboratory equipment. At the same time the focus and the activities of Perkin Elmer becomes the development and production of products in the field of molecular biology. With the acquisition of Applied Biosystems in early nineties, molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR and sequencing are gaining more importance in life science research. At that time Perkin Elmer is being entirely devoted to the production of molecular biology products, which results in leaving the analytical equipment program. This change is also reflected in the business management of Analitika d.o.o. company, which eventually changes its name to Biosistemi d.o.o.
