Beyond The Blazer

Beyond The Blazer is a mentoring service to support underrepresented individuals in applying to study law at University and corporate careers. I started this initiative after struggling with hiding self-harm scars underneath my blazer when interviewing for law firms. I met with peers who felt that their own journeys into the corporate world, whether battling being a first-generation student, being from a BAME or LGBT+ background, or facing adversity associated with disability or time in care, were hidden beneath the exterior of wearing a blazer. This organisation strives to support individuals who have faced these challenges in their academic careers, and to give them points of contact in University and industry, connecting with individuals who can relate to their personal journey.
