better with water is a French NGO and operates since 2008 in the Philippines. It took on the challenge to make cities more inclusive - where disadvantaged families can enjoy decent living conditions. To pursue this goal, it developed a model based on social entrepreneurship and proximity: better with water facilitated the creation of two entities - a local social enterprise and a local NGO. The social enterprise is a Filipino non-profit social business, and as direct provider of water service, puts up the water infrastructure (construction of the water network) as a small scale water operator providing clean, water to low income communities living in depressed Urban Areas and Relocation Sites. It currently has active partnerships with mainstream water service providers such as Metro Cebu Water District, Leyte Metropolitan Water District and Maynilad.
