Bagazs Nonprofit Association

We believe that we all deserve the same chances in life - even if one was born in a geographically and socially segregated, deeply poor Roma settlement. We envision a society where Roma people can reach their goals too. Our priority objective is to bring about a permanent change in the lives of segregated Roma communities and in their environment (i.e. local institutions, village communities), and also to transform the stereotypes and prejudices of the majority society against the Roma. Our organization does not provide material donations, but support education and development, debt management and employment through group and individual programs. Local inhabitants and volunteer work have played an active and important role in the work of Bagazs ever since. Bagazss staff consists of 15 employees, and an additional 150+ volunteers per year are involved in our various activities.
