The Avon Lake Fire Department is staffed 24-hours, 7-days per week by State of Ohio Licensed Professional Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedics who are also trained in confined space entry, technical rescue (including water rescue) and many other specific emergency and non-emergency response disciplines. Platoon personnel begin work at 7:00 AM and remain on duty until 7:00 AM the next morning when they are relieved by another platoon.
