Founded in 1951, the Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA) is a federation of Science Teachers Associations from all Australian states and territories, collectively representing several thousand members. ASTA is the national voice of science teachers representing their interests at the highest levels, promoting the profession and enriching science teaching. On behalf of our members, ASTA undertakes: - Advocacy; - Resource Delivery; - Advice & Program Management. Noteworthy ASTA programs and professional development opportunities include: - CONASTA, the annual conference of ASTA - The STEM X Academy - National Science Week - The BHP Science & Engineering Awards - The Prime Ministers Prize for Science - Science ASSIST ASTA also publishes the internationally renowned, peer reviewed journal, Teaching Science, with a readership of several thousand both in Australia and overseas.
