American Guild of Variety Artists

The American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA), founded in 1939, is an AFL-CIO-affiliated labor union representing performing artists and stage managers in live variety performances. These performances include singers, dancers in theatrical revues and touring shows, theme park performers, skaters, circus performers, comedians, stand-up comics, cabaret and club artists, as well as variety performers at private parties and special events. AGVA is a proud member of The Associated Actors and Artistes of America (commonly known as The 4 As), which operates under the Department for Professional Employees (DPE). Our sister unions include Actors Equity Association (AEA), SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists), the American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), and the Guild of Italian American Actors (GIAA).
