Under Statute Law no.337 enacted on November 3rd 1998, the current organic model was created for the Administracao do Porto de Sines, S.A. (or APS, SA). This turned the Public Institute into a wholly public owned PLC, with the role to ensure the exercising of competences needed for the smooth operation of the port of Sines in its multiple facets of an economic, financial and property nature, the staff management and port operation as well as attendant, subsidiary and accessory activities.
