ABC Radio

ABC Radio Networks was originally part of the Radio Corporation of America as NBCs Blue Network. The Blue Network was eventually sold by RCA and adopted the name American Broadcasting Company in 1945. The company would later be purchased by Capital Cities and then The Walt Disney Company. In June 2007, The Walt Disney company sold the radio syndication division (and the ABC heritage radio stations) to Citadel Broadcasting. Under a licensing agreement from Disney, the radio network continued to use the ABC Radio Networks name and logo until April 2009. At that time the network became known as Citadel Media. In September 2011, Citadel Broadcasting was purchased by Cumulus Media, Inc. Today the network division is Cumulus Media Networks. Cumulus Media Networks has more than 4,000 affiliate radio stations reaching 121 million listeners each week.
